Republicans Are Awful: Vol. 2
A grab bag of some of the latest and most egregious examples of Republicans being awful and/or trying to force their trash-ass policies down our throats. Stick around until the end, where I explain how Choice Taxation allows us to protect ourselves and one another from Republican nonsense.
So much going on! That goofy orange billionaire and the billionaire apartheid baby are feuding! The latter is in his feelings because the former told him to beat it. And so, obvious truths were told:
To distract from it all, Republicans upgraded their relationship status with fascism from curious to committed:
Amid all that messiness here are some stories you might’ve missed:
When Republicans send their people to govern, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending their clueless billionaires, their grossly incompetent, and their willfully ignorant:
To be fair, professed ignorance of shit she really should know about (considering her position) is 100% on brand for McMahon. Just ask the former ring boys.
The self-proclaimed pro-life party has been on quite the “fuck them lives!” tear lately. Here they are cutting funding for programs aimed at preventing infant deaths:
Here they are ending research to help babies with heart defects:
And here’s the White House giving Republican-led states the all clear on letting pregnant women die:
Because, I guess, every life is precious—unless forced-birth zealots decide it’s not. Or until that life comes between a billionaire and a tax cut.
Speaking of awful people, it’s TFG again:
And, LOL, the deciding vote on Kennedy’s confirmation, Senator and medical doctor Bill Cassidy, thinks RFK Jr. gives a rat’s ass about what he has to say.
(On principle I’m not linking to X, so please make do with this picture of his tweet.)
We’ll end with this bit of FAFO that would be a lot more satisfying if right-wing voters’ actions didn’t end up screwing over a bunch of people through no fault of their own.
Yeesh, that’s more than enough. Let’s take a look now at how Choice Taxation will fix most of this mess.
You can find a full explanation of how the Choice Taxation plan works here, but for now, here’s all you need to know:
Under the plan, our government would end all involvement in education, healthcare, entitlement programs, and the private sector regulations that affect workers. Instead, these critical issues would be governed exclusively by four new partisan tax systems: Progressive Tax System, Democrat Tax System, Republican Tax System, and MAGA Tax System.
Once we’ve all joined the tax system of our choice, that system, not our government, will collect the majority of our domestic spending tax dollars and use them to fund policies and programs rooted in our shared values, beliefs, and policy goals. Then, all federal departments and agencies previously overseeing these issues would be significantly downsized or dissolved.
Here’s what all that means in relation to this latest batch of awfulness:
With the tax systems in charge of education, the government-controlled Department of Education would be dissolved. The Progressive and Democrat Tax Systems would then be free to create, fund, and run their own education department (or, they could combine resources and do so in partnership with one another). This means progressives and moderate Dems would never ever, ever, ever again have to fund or abide by a Department of Education run by someone like Linda McMahon.
Next, with the tax systems in charge of healthcare, the government-controlled Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) would be dissolved. The Progressive and Democrat Tax Systems would then team up to create, fund, and run their own HHS complete with their own NIH—or do so separately if they preferred.
Through their NIH, the two systems could launch another Safe to Sleep program and ensure it always had the funding it needed. They could also provide the money needed to resume production and testing of the PediaFlow device, which researchers say could potentially save the lives of countless infants born with heart defects.
And, of course, both systems could ensure progressives and moderate Dems would never ever, ever, ever again have to fund or abide by an HHS run by an anti-science, anti-vax, pro-virus dipshit like Kennedy.
Lastly, with the tax systems in charge of entitlement programs and the private sector regulations that affect workers, the government-controlled Department of Labor (DOL) would be dissolved and the Progressive and Democrat Tax Systems could then create, fund, and run their own DOL complete with their own Job Corps program. And the dissolution of the government-controlled DOL also means we’d never again be forced to pay for a Job Corps program for people on the Right who keep voting for the assholes currently gutting the program so billionaires can get more tax cuts.
I’ll end by saying that while Choice Taxation wouldn’t directly solve the fascism problem, it could help indirectly. Many right-wing voters insist they vote Republican for strictly economic reasons (you know—the self-described “fiscally conservative, socially liberal” crowd). But with Choice Taxation putting the majority of social and economic policies in the hands of the tax systems, Republicans would get most of the fiscal policies they want. Plus, they’d no longer have to worry that their tax dollars are funding programs that benefit anyone on the Left (which, let’s be honest, is probably the real motivator factor behind their electoral choices).
Anyway, with that fear assuaged, maybe they’ll finally lose interest in voting for fascists.
